A citizens’ group has expressed its dissatisfaction with the decision by Nagasaki Prefecture not to disclose official documents regarding its planned IR project in Sasebo city.
According to the Nagasaki Shimbun, the group, called Citizens’ Association for Considering the Problems of a Casino Bid, will request the opportunity to review the documentation.
In March, Nagasaki’s IR examination committee announced the three operators who had cleared the initial screening process, with two companies dropping out of the running.
The three companies to have progressed are Oshidori Consortium, Casinos Austria International Japan (CAIJ) and NIKI & Chyau Fwu (Park View) Group.
The citizens group requested that the minutes of the first screening meeting of the examination committee be made public but the prefecture decided to not make the disclosure, citing potential damage to a competitive process and other legitimate interests.
