Macau welcomed a total of 604,395 visitor arrivals across the five-day May Day Golden Week, with a daily average visitation of 120,879.
This was slightly below the expected 130,000 per day the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) previously said it was expecting across the holiday period. It was also 16% lower than the corresponding holiday period in 2019, according to figures from the Public Security Police Force.
Last Friday 3 May proved to be the busiest day of the week, with 154,006 people entering Macau, while Sunday 5 May saw the lowest with around 98,000.
In total, there were to 2,989,446 border crossings from 1 to 5 May at the SAR’s various checkpoints.
The MGTO previously revealed there were 8.9 million visitor arrivals in 1Q24, representing 84.8% of the daily average for the same period in 2019.
