Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM) showed its support to the Macau SAR Government by taking part in last weekend’s “Macao Week in Hangzhou” roadshow on the vibrant Hubin Pedestrian Street.
The roadshow was designed to boost tourism to Macau by raising its profile and promoting it as a safe and healthy destination to visit. The opening ceremony was attended by the likes of Macao Government Tourism Office Director, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes; Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Zhu Hong; Deputy Mayor of Hangzhou Municipal Government, Ke Jixin; and SJM’s Managing Director, Angela Leong.
SJM’s booth at the roadshow, titled “Lisboa – Grand Lisboa – Grand Lisboa Palace”, celebrated the development Macau’s iconic Lisboa brand by showcasing architectural models of the three properties with LED displays. The booth was designed to give visitors an opportunity to experience Macau’s East-West heritage while discovering more about the Lisboa brand ahead of the impending launch of Grand Lisboa Palace in Cotai during the first half of this year.
“With the full support of the Central Government, the decisive anti-pandemic measures of the Macau SAR Government and the joint efforts of the entire community, Macau is now a safe tourist city,” said SJM Chairman, Daisy Ho.
“We are delighted to partner with the Macau Government in Hangzhou in promoting Macau tourism and rejuvenating our economy. The Lisboa brand, with a legacy of 50 years, is a pioneer in Macau’s tourism and leisure industry, closely connected with the development of the city.
“The Grand Lisboa Palace integrated resort, with its East-West theme highlighting Macau’s unique role in Sino-Western cultural exchange for over 400 years, will bring a brand-new experience to visitors while supporting Macau’s positioning as a ‘world center of tourism and leisure’.”
SJM’s presence at the roadshow included a specially choreographed dance performance titled “Macau Love Story” with Grand Lisboa Palace’s wedding venue The Grand Pavilion as the backdrop.
SJM’s hotels also launched an array of promotional offers while networking with Hangzhou’s travel partners and travel agencies to solidify cooperation.
“Macao Week in Hangzhou” was jointly organised by Secretariat for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government, Hangzhou Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, and Shangcheng District People’s Government of Hangzhou Municipality.
Coordinators of the event included the Macao Government Tourism Office, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Administrative Committee of Hubin Pedestrian Street District of Hangzhou Municipality as well as Hangzhou Hubin Pedestrian Street Commercial Development Co Ltd.
