- Succeeded legendary father Stanley Ho as chairman of SJM Holdings in June 2018
- Emerging as a public face of Macau’s oldest casino operator
Daisy Ho’s ascent at SJM Holdings in June 2018, succeeding her father Stanley Ho as chairman, signaled the end of an era. It also signaled that she and her older sister Pansy Ho had won a years long struggle to rule SJM.
Last year’s deal with the Fok Foundation arguably wrestled ultimate control of SJM to Stanley Ho’s second family. Daisy Ho sits atop the corporate pyramid and was appointed an authorized representative of the company at the June annual general meeting. Certainly she is there with a mission to “shake things up” and create a new SJM that can reclaim its former mantle as a leader in Macau’s gaming space.
Daisy Ho also works under her sister as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Shun Tak Holdings, the property, transport and hospitality conglomerate also founded by their father.
Louis Ng, who worked with Stanley Ho since the 1970s, left his post as SJM COO in June, a move seen as a victory for the Daisy/Pansy Ho duo. Ng’s replacement as COO, Frank McFadden, came to town for the launch of Sands Macao, then joined SJM to complete and open Grand Lisboa. He’s now positioned to help debut Grand Lisboa Palace, SJM’s long awaited Cotai integrated resort.
