Philippines digital entertainment firm DigiPlus Interactive Corp will spend up to Php2 billion (US$35.4 million) in 2024 to further enhance its digital offerings and capitalize on recent growth momentum, according to the company’s President, Andy Tsui.
Speaking with local media during the week, Tsui said that more than half of its budgeted expenditure would be on technological upgrades, including cybersecurity, as well as new game developments, as per PhilStar. This, he added, was part of DigiPlus’s strategy to become the leading diversified leisure and entertainment hub in the Philippines.
“We continue to invest in cutting-edge technologies and product development to continuously offer unparalleled enjoyment for Filipinos,” Tsui said.
“We aim to shape the landscape of Filipino entertainment with our portfolio of digital offerings that cater to different demographics and lifestyle preferences.”
Tsui also said he expects the company’s revenues to grow by between 10% and 20% in 2024, having soared by 306% to Php27.3 billion (US$483 million) last year thanks to impressive growth on its flagship bingo platform BingoPlus and sportsbook ArenaPlus.
“Through our accelerated digital transformation effort, we are optimistic that we can sustain the growth momentum across DigiPlus’ digital offerings,” Tsui said.
“As we expand our retail segment, we remain committed in integrating our digital and offline offerings by introducing top-tier flagship stores, livestreaming hub, cutting-edge gaming machines—all using the latest technology.”
Formerly known as Leisure and Resorts World Corp, DigiPlus also leases slot machines and operates slot arcades on behalf of PAGCOR. It had previously planned to develop a US$500 million casino resort on Boracay but last year confirmed it would no longer actively pursue the development after its mooted partner, Macau’s Galaxy Entertainment Group, poured cold water on the idea.
