Philippine integrated resort Okada Manila took part in Earth Hour on Saturday, powering down its exterior lighting and iconic Fountain from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. The hotel also dimmed the lights in its Coral and Pearl lobbies, wellness centers and other areas within the integrated resort.
“By turning off our facilities and amenities for just an hour, we conserve energy and save a significant amount of electricity in our operations,” said Okada Manila’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Byron Yip.
“These small, yet impactful, actions demonstrate our commitment to sparking positive environmental change.”
To commemorate the Earth Hour, the property’s restaurant and hotel guests were offered complimentary beverages in dining outlets and on the gaming floors, while Medley Buffet featured a vegan station and Earth Hour-themed pastries.
“We each have a role in fostering change and must act together,” said Yip. “As a Forbes 5-Star-rated property and a premier integrated resort in the Philippines, Okada Manila stands united with the global community in advocating for the preservation of Earth. We aim to establish exemplary standards for society, not only for today’s betterment, but also for the benefit of future generations.”
