The World Poker Tour has confirmed it will return to South Korea this year, with WPT Korea scheduled to run from 25 March to April 3 at Jeju Shinhwa World’s Landing Casino.
“We continue to expand ways that poker players around the world can play World Poker Tour events,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “After a very successful WPT Korea stop in 2023, we made it a priority to return in 2024 and are looking forward to an even bigger turnout.”
This year’s WPT Korea will feature a US$1.5 million GTD main event with a US$2,000 buy-in, a US$30,000 buy-in Super High Roller and a US$15,000 buy-in High Roller among others. Last year’s main event attracted 758 entries.
The WPT said its Korea events will be led by tournament director Juan de Jesus, who has more than 20 years’ experience handling tournament events at Foxwoods Resorts Casino and with World Poker Tour (WPT), World Series of Poker Circuit Events (WSOPC), European Poker Tour (EPT) and PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA).
“The much-anticipated return of this thrilling event is set to electrify the atmosphere with excitement,” said Jenny Lim, Chief Operating Officer of Landing Entertainment Korea at Jeju Shinhwa World.
“We invite poker players from around the world to return to Jeju Island, an amazing city! We are thrilled and delighted to host the World Poker Tour again this spring for an exciting two weeks.”
