Australian law firm Addisons has appointed former Sportsbet counsel Lachlan Gepp as its new Special Counsel, effective immediately.
Gepp, a specialist sports, gambling and media rights lawyer, joins the Addisons Gaming & Gambling Law Practice following a lengthy career that has seen him hold senior legal positions at the National Rugby League (NRL) and Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), while most recently he was in-house counsel and Head of Legal at leading online sports betting operator Sportsbet.
Having begun his law career in private practice, Gepp’s expertise spans intellectual property, major broadcasting and technology arrangements, and regulatory compliance and enforcement across the sporting, gaming and online wagering sectors, Addisons said.
“We are very pleased that Lachlan has joined our team at Addisons,” said Addisons Partner Jamie Nettleton.
“Lachlan has significant legal and industry expertise in the sports and gambling sectors in Australia, with extensive experience in IP, technology, enforcement and broadcasting. Lachlan joins us from Sportsbet, where he was Head of Legal.”
