According to latest data from the Macau Land and Urban Construction Bureau (DSSCU), eight hotels are currently under construction in Macau as of the end of the third quarter, one less than in the second quarter. These eight hotels will provide 3,137 new hotel rooms once complete.
Of the hotels under construction, six are located on the Macau Peninsula, with a total of 329 rooms, and two are located in Cotai, with a total of 2,808 rooms.
In addition, as of the third quarter, a total of eight other hotel projects were in the design stage, which will provide 1,308 rooms in the future.
DSSCU said one hotel was completed on the Macau Peninsula in Q2, offering 595 hotel rooms.
The completed hotel is believed to be the Macau YOHO Treasure Island Resorts World Hotel, located in the Macau Peninsula’s Praca de Ferreira do Amaral. The hotel has announced on its external wall that it will officially open on 15 December.
Macau YOHO Treasure Island Resorts World Hotel is currently in its soft opening stage and has been operating on a trial basis since August.
Among the Cotai hotels to officially open their doors in recent months are Studio City’s W Macau and Galax Macau’s Andaz Macau and Raffles at Galaxy Macau, both part of the resort’s Phase 3 development.
