Calvin Lim Eng Kiat, the long-time President and CEO of Philippines gaming technology firm DFNN Inc, has been named as CEO of NASDAQ-listed Swedish games studio LL Lucky Games AB – less than a year after being elected to the company’s Board of Directors.
Lim will take the reins at Lucky Games as of 1 November 2023, replacing company founder Mads V. Jørgensen, who will instead be appointed as Chief Investment Officer and Vice Chairman, with responsibility for acquisitions, investments and regulatory compliance.
Lim is already a significant owner of Lucky Games, having acquired 15,052,049 shares in the company last year. In announcing his promotion to the CEO role, Lucky Games said Lim has, through his active ownership, already contributed to its long-term development, including financing expansion and establishment in the Asian market.
“It is an honor to step into the role of CEO of Lucky Games,” said Lim.
“I want to say a big thank you to the board and team for all their support. I feel well prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. We have already made significant progress, including expansion into the Asian market and several successful acquisitions.
“I look forward to leading our team through the next phase of our growth strategy, bolstered by a flexible infrastructure and a solid foundation in innovative development.”
Lim will remain as a board member of DFNN, a Philippines-listed technology firm with interests in gaming including the provision of online gaming platforms for local casino operators. It also holds licenses for Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs), operates a sports betting exchange, and runs digital and pari-mutuel games in partnership with gaming regulator PAGCOR.
