Macau welcomed a total of 1,593,743 visitors in February, representing a 143.1% year-on-year increase and 14.0% higher than January.
According to information from Macau’s Statistics and Census (DSEC), the number of arrivals from Hong Kong increased by 11.6 times compared to February 2022.
There were 843,402 overnight visitors and 750,341 non-overnight visitors in February, up 201.8% and 99.5% year-on-year respectively. The average length of stay for visitors decreased by 0.2 days to 1.3 days year-on-year, with the average length of stay for overnight visitors down by 1.1 days to 2.2 days.
Analyzed by source, there were 1,003,999 visitor arrivals from mainland China, up 64.8% year-on-year, of which 634,538 utilized the Individual Visit Scheme. Among the mainland visitors, 54,210 were from Zhuhai 115,876 from Guangzhou.
By channel of entry, there were 1,282,060 arrivals by land in February, up 117.9% year-on-year, with 642,521 arrivals via the Border Gate, 416,899 via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and 160,889 via the Hengqin port.
The number of arrivals by sea were 199,523, up more than 1,100% and by air 112,160, up 121.6%.
For the first two months of 2023 combined there were 2,991,491 arrivals, up 121.6% year-on-year, with the average length of stay holding steady at 1.4 days.
