Macau concessionaire Sands China Ltd said Tuesday it has made a combined MOP$675,000 (US$83,500) donation to five local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to aid their responsible gaming efforts in 2023.

The five beneficiaries are the Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau, the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home, the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao and Bosco Youth Service Network, with each presented donation cheques at a ceremony at The Venetian Macao on 8 March.

Sands China said it has now made more than MOP$6.9 million (US$854,000) in responsible gaming donations since 2006 an annual practice as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility and to support to the sustainable development of the local community.

“Sands China is pleased to continue our annual donations to Macau NGOs doing important responsible gaming work in the community,” said the company’s President, Dr Wilfred Wong.

“We are grateful for our collaborations over the years, and look forward to continuing our joint efforts to raise awareness and understanding of responsible gaming in Macau.”

Sands China said its donations help support various responsible gaming efforts of the NGOs, including parent-child responsible gaming and financial management activities, roadshows, workshops, trainings, sharing sessions, responsible gaming promotional videos and quiz games.
