Philippines gaming regulator PAGCOR has opened its latest Multi-Purpose Evacuation Center (MPEC), the 16th in total, in Barangay Pangapisan – part of its response to extreme weather conditions.
The Php50 million (US$875,000) two-storey emergency facility boasts of state-of-the-art amenities such as a kitchen and storage areas, toilet and shower rooms for male and female, and lactating rooms for nursing mothers, among others.
Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil, who joined key PAGCOR officers in the inauguration of the MPEC building this week, expressed his gratitude to PAGCOR for funding the construction of a much-needed facility in their town.
“We are grateful to our brothers and sisters in PAGCOR for making this project possible,” he said.
