Sands China Ltd has announced it will pay a discretionary allowance equivalent to one month’s salary to more than 25,000 eligible non-senior management staff on 17 January 2022.
The allowance is in appreciation of their dedication and contributions in 2021, the company said Wednesday, adding that 99% of all Sands China staff is benefiting from either the discretionary allowance or other incentive schemes.
“This year was another challenging one, not just for Macau, but for the whole world,” said Sands China President, Dr Wilfred Wong. “Despite its challenges, our team members came together to successfully launch The Londoner Macao against the backdrop of an ongoing pandemic – fulfilling the vision of our founder, Mr. Sheldon G Adelson.
“And since the start of the pandemic, our team members have demonstrated their care for the community by taking the initiative to get vaccinated, by volunteering to support our 24-hour Nucleic Acid Testing station during two community-wide mandatory testing drives and by providing hotel services for medical observation, among so much more.
“Not only did these actions demonstrate our deep sense of social responsibility, protecting our guests and each other, they also revealed our company’s team spirit. Therefore, it is Sands China’s pleasure to award this discretionary allowance to our team members for their tireless dedication and service-minded attitude.”
