Nagasaki’s three remaining candidate operators gave their final presentations in Nagasaki city on 4 August as bidding to develop and operate an IR at Huis Ten Bosch in Sasebo nears its conclusion.
The operators in question are Casinos Austria, NIKI Chyau (Park View) Group and Oshidori Consortium, with all three having recently cleared first screening procedures before explaining their proposals this week to the prefecture’s examination committee, according to Nagasaki Shimbun.
Nagasaki is currently on its second screening in the process of selecting an IR operator. The prefecture is scheduled to select a winning candidate later this month.
Once an operator has been selected, the prefecture will submit an IR proposal to the central government between October 2021 and April 2022. Currently four areas are openly promoting IR projects including Osaka city/prefecture, Yokohama city, Nagasaki’s Sasebo city and Wakayama prefecture.
The national government may approve a maximum of three IR locations.
