Genting Hong Kong’s Dream Cruises has launched a vaccination incentive scheme that will see it give away almost HK$4 million (US$515,000) in prizes to Hong Kong residents who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The incentive scheme represents the latest efforts by Genting Hong Kong to resume sailing across Asia, having previously relaunched some operations out of Taiwan and Singapore.
The company announced Thursday it would offer a total of five prizes to Hong Kong residents, including a first prize of an All-You-Can-Cruise Annual Pass in a Deluxe Balcony Stateroom, housing up to four guests and worth HK$3.8 million (US$490,000).
“Dream Cruises is thrilled to welcome the arrival of the Genting Dream back to Hong Kong as we begin our preparations to resume cruises at the end of July,” said Genting Cruise Lines President Kent Zhu.
“To show our appreciation for the support we have received for our Super Summer Seacation itineraries as well as to thank the people of Hong Kong for their efforts in the fight against COVID-19, we are excited to offer Hong Kong residents the chance to win some exceptional prizes in our Go! Super Seacation Sweepstakes.”
Genting Hong Kong, which also operates Crystal Cruises and Star Cruises, recently revealed it was continuing discussions with lenders around a restructuring and recapitalization of debts after reporting a group-wide net loss of US$1.72 million in FY2020.
