Galaxy Entertainment Group has become the fifth Macau concessionaire to offer its staff a bonus payment this year after announcing a one-off Special Payment equivalent to one month of salary for eligible team members.
The Special Payment, to be paid on 10 February 2021, will be granted to those at Senior Manager and below, and covers around 98% of team members.
Eligible team members who joined the company between 2 January and 3 October 2020 will receive the one-off Special Payment on a pro-rata basis, GEG added.
“GEG is committed to building a better Macau where we call home,” said GEG Vice Chairman Francis Lui.
“We are vigorously developing one of the largest and most diverse integrated destinations in the world in support of Macau’s development into a World Center of Tourism and Leisure.
“Our expansion from 2021 and beyond will create tremendous opportunities to team members. Delivering this will have its challenges and difficulties at time, but working hard as a team and differentiating ourselves will be rewarding.”
In announcing its one-off Special Payment, GEG said it thanked the Macau SAR Government as well as all team members for their support during a “year full of challenges” in 2020.
“COVID-19 brings unprecedented challenges to GEG’s business and although the near-term outlook is still full of uncertainties, the company’s determination to continuous growth and development during such difficult times remains unwavering,” it stated.
“GEG hopes to receive team members’ full collaboration and support of its Cotai Phases 3 and 4 projects, which GEG believes, will assist the company in maintaining competitiveness for the long term.”
