Vietnam integrated resort Hoiana will open this Sunday 28 June for what owner and operator Suncity Group is calling an “exclusive preview opening.”

In an overnight announcement, Suncity said it would open a number of facilities at Hoiana for the first time, including Hoiana Casino and the first of four hotels set to form part of the Phase 1 development, Hoiana Hotel & Suites.

Hoiana Shores Golf Club, which opened to players late last year, will also be available for invited guests to use.

Inside Asian Gaming understands that table games, slots and some F&B outlets will be available to guests from Sunday.

“The metamorphosis of Suncity never stops,” said Suncity Group Chairman Alvin Chau.

“I am delighted to see that our projects in Vietnam, Russia and the Philippines continue to grow as they all undergo transformation. My dear friends and guests, please come to experience Hoiana yourself during the Grand Opening in 2021.”

As previously reported by IAG, the first phase of Hoiana – a joint venture between Suncity, Chow Tai Fook and VinaCapital Group – will focus on “hospitality and experiences” aimed at key target markets across Asia.

“Hoiana is pretty incredible,” said Hoiana’s Group CEO, Steve Wolstenholme, during the recent ICE Asia Digital event.

“What we are about to launch is the first phase which is limited to hospitality but also experiences, and these experiences are very much aligned with what the market wants – particularly when we look at our primary markets in China, South Korea and Japan. We’ve done a lot of research to ensure we are providing what they want to see.”

Aside from the development’s four hotel brands as part of Phase 1 – Rosewood Hoi An, New World Hoiana Hotel & Residences, Hoiana Hotel & Suites and Khos – the casino at Hoiana will offer 140 gaming tables and 300 slot machines, which Wolstenholme said is not on the same scale as casinos in Macau or Singapore “but has a uniqueness about it, a certain DNA in our casino that is not just about glitz and glamor but also cultural DNA which is where we can be something that people have not experienced.”
