Inside Asian Gaming has announced that the next installment of its GAME online interactive experience, to take place next Tuesday 23 June at 10am Macau time, will feature the former Chief Operating Officer-Gaming of MGM China, John Shigley, as special guest.
Shigley, whose 40-year career has included 32 years in the gaming industry at Caesars, New York New York, MGM Resorts and MGM China, has had a range of CFO and COO roles at major integrated resorts. He started his career as a CPA at Coopers and Lybrand in Chicago in 1978, and his most recent role was Chief Operating Officer-Gaming for MGM China in Macau from 2014 to 2019. Shigley retired in February 2019 and now resides in Las Vegas.
Widely admired for his no-nonsense and practical style over a long career, Shigley has been one of the most requested speakers by GAME members.
Over the course of 50 minutes on Tuesday 23 June, Shigley will give his take on reading financial accounts published by integrated resort operators, demystifying and explaining concepts such as dividend policies, liquidity, access to capital, debt restructuring, interpreting balance sheets and more. He will also discuss the effects of COVID-19 on finance for the gaming industry.
Due to Shigley’s location in Las Vegas, the GAME event will take place at 10am on Tuesday 23 June, rather than the usual time of 5pm.
The online event will comprise a 25-minute interview by IAG’s Vice Chairman and CEO Andrew W Scott, followed by a 25-minute AMA (ask me anything) session during which GAME members will be able to ask Mr Shigley anything they wish.
Only GAME members will be able to attend the online interactive event. Industry friends and colleagues can sign up for free at www.iaggame.com.
