Indian-based annual gaming conference SPiCE will go ahead as planned this month after organizers described the situation in Goa as “normal.”
While a number of gaming shows and exhibitions across Asia have been postponed, including ASEAN in the Philippines and G2E Asia in Macau, Eventus International sent an update overnight in which it confirmed SPiCE would stick to its original schedule from 25 to 27 March 2020 at the Goa Marriott Resort & Spa.
The company quoted its Strategic Advisor in India, Jay Sayta, as stating, “No one has tested positive for COVID-19 in Goa to date and the situation appears to be normal. The government has however advised that everyone remains careful about their health and follows basic norms of hygiene at all times.”
The 3-day event, which will explore the regulatory framework in India and industry opportunities within the region, will feature more than 40 speakers plus an awards ceremony and other networking events.
