Oshidori International, a development company based in Hong Kong with an affiliate involved with IR management, will respond to the Request for Concept being run by Nagasaki prefecture for an IR.
CEO Kelly Yam confirmed Oshidori as the third operator to declare formal participation in Nagasaki’s IR bid over the weekend, as reported by the Nagasaki Shimbun.
Regarding the plan for Sasebo city’s Huis Ten Bosch (HTB), the candidate site for the Nagasaki IR, Yam said, “We want to create a smart city never seen before in the world using advanced technology. We are also considering a regenerative medicine facility.”
It is expected that Oshidori will invest JPY400 billion into its Nagasaki IR.
“Nagasaki IR is a project worth heavy investment,” Yam said. Oshidori is involved in development and investment and its affiliate is engaged with IRs across the globe.
Nagasaki Prefecture started a Request for Concept on 1 October, looking to revitalize the region. After hearing the plans of each operator, it will make a formal public offering next year and select an operator around the time of next fall.
Casinos Austria International and Current have already announced their intention to participate.
