South Shore Holdings Limited, the owner and operator of embattled luxury Macau hotel THE 13, has announced that its CEO, Walt Power, has been re-designated from his role.
Effective as of Wednesday 1 May, Power is no longer CEO or Executive Director of South Shore, instead listed as Non-Executive Director. Power, 65, had been CEO of the company since February 2013, having previously held roles as SVP of Operations for Sands China subsidiary Venetian Macau Limited and Chief Operating Officer of Melco Resorts’ New Cotai Entertainment.
South Shore’s executive team now comprises Chairman Peter Coker and Deputy Chairman Tom Lau.
It is believed South Shore is currently on the lookout for a buyer following a series of funding difficulties and construction delays. Once billed as the most luxurious hotel in the world, THE 13’s operator recently confirmed it has made no moves to launch gaming operations at the property, which held its soft opening in late 2018.
