The Macau government has reported tax revenue from the SAR’s six casino concessionaires of MOP$10.25 billion in January, a 16.2% increase on tax revenue of MOP$8.82 billion in January 2018 and putting it comfortably on track to make budget for the year.
The increase comes despite a 5% fall in city-wide gross gaming revenue for the month – Macau’s first monthly year-on-year decline since July 2016.
January’s tax contribution from gaming operators included MOP$10.19 billion in gaming revenue and MOP$61.4 million in concession revenue from public utility services.
According to figures released by the Financial Services Bureau, the combined concession revenue of MOP$10.25 billion for the first month of 2019 represents 10.4% of the government’s FY19 concessionaire tax budget of MOP$98.57 billion.
