Macau’s largest junket operator, Suncity, is set to launch a new VIP room at Wynn Palace that will boost its table count in the Cotai property by 40%.
The news was unveiled by Wynn Resorts executives during the company’s 2Q18 earnings call on Thursday, with CEO and President Matt Maddox revealing the new room – which will overlook the Wynn Palace performance lake – is scheduled to open in September.
Inside Asian Gaming has learned that the room will include a total of seven tables.
“There is additional demand so our largest junket operator will be taking a new room,” Maddox said. “We’re really excited about it.”
Ian Coughlan, President of Wynn Macau Ltd, said the company expects the new Suncity room to be “a huge success.”
“It’s a really attractive gaming area with its own individual access from the street. It’s very nicely appointed at the front of the property,” he explained.
VIP turnover at Wynn Palace climbed 20.9% to US$14.03 billion in 2Q18.
