Macau concessionaire Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited has launched its first on-site Hotel and Catering Safety Card Training Program in cooperation with the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL), becoming the first integrated resorts operator in Macau to initiate this training for colleagues on-premises.
The full day program, conducted at Studio City, was attended by 53 Melco employees from various departments earlier this week and covered OSH topics relevant to the hotel and catering industry such as workplace accident prevention, manual handling, kitchen safety, electricity, fire and heat prevention and emergency response. The training was conducted by Melco colleagues qualified with the Occupational Safety and Health Officer Certificate with guidance from DSAL officers. Enrollees who successfully passed the assessment were issued with Safety Cards on-site.
“Melco considers the health and safety of our colleagues and customers a top priority,” said Melco Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho.
“We are thrilled to support the DSAL’s commitment to OSH by becoming the first gaming operator in Macau to offer our colleagues on-site Safety Card training specific to the needs of the hotel and catering industry, and look forward to further disseminating knowledge among our colleagues to raise and maintain safety awareness in the workplace.”
