A Northern Mariana Islands senator has introduced a bill to prevent financial fraud at Saipan’s Imperial Pacific Resort.
Senate Bill 20-98, also known as the “Prevention of Fraudulent Misuse of Financial Instruments in Casino Gaming and Other Transactions Act”, was introduced by Senate President Arnold I Palacios with the goal of protecting Imperial Pacific Resort from fraudulent activity, according to local media.
In particular the bill targets issues such as counterfeit money, fake credit cards and other financial transactions.
Palacios states in the bill that threat of financial fraud in Saipan has increased ten-fold since Imperial Pacific International first launched its original temporary casino Best Sunshine Live in 2015.
