Hong Kong-listed Imperial International Holdings Limited (IPI) has eyes on Japan with the company pointing to the upcoming Japan Gaming Congress (JgC) in Tokyo as an opportunity to build brand awareness and demonstrate its integrated resort expertize.
The company, which owns and operates Imperial Pacific Resort in Saipan, says it plans to liaise with local Japanese media and key industry stakeholders next week to highlight IPI “as a seasoned and successful operator in the integrated resort industry.”
In addition, the group plans to showcase their successes in the industry to both Japanese private sector and government groups.
“This effort will display Imperial Pacific’s ability to operate successful integrated resorts, a requirement for those wishing to consider an entry into the Japanese IR market,” the company said.
IPI is a sponsor of the Japan Gaming Congress, to be held at Conrad Tokyo on 10 and 11 May.
Lu Tsai, Senior Vice President of Operations for IPI, said in a statement, “We are excited to be involved in the Japan Gaming Congress this year and look forward to showcasing Imperial Pacific’s successes in Saipan. We also have a variety of plans aimed at further developing the Japanese market, a key inbound market for our future expansion. We plan to look at a variety of opportunities to further our tourism and destination marketing opportunities within the country.”
Several members of the Imperial Pacific executive team will attend JgC, with Lu planning to meet a variety of government prefectural representatives for discussions around Japan-Saipan tourism opportunities as well as the future of the integrated resort industry within Japan.
