MGM MACAU today announced “salary increment and a Chinese New Year bonus payout for all non-management team members”.
“The increment of 5% takes into account the effort and loyalty of the team as well as the higher cost of living in Macau,” said a company statement, without specifying the period over which the increase will be paid.
Grant R. Bowie, Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited commented, “MGM MACAU is committed to providing competitive level of benefits and compensation to our team members. With the good results achieved over the past twelve months, on behalf of the board of directors and executive team, I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and dedication.”
In December Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (SJM), the casino operating company founded by Stanley Ho, said all its Macau employees will get a pay rise of between 5% and 10% in 2012.
In November, Macau’s Chief Executive Chui Sai On urged Macau employers to raise locals’ wages to allow them to catch up with the territory’s economic development.
