Dr Stanley Ho, the chairman of Macau gaming operator SJM Holdings, received the Grand Bauhinia Medal, Hong Kong’s highest civic award, on Saturday.
It was presented by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Donald Tsang, at the 2010 Honours and Awards Presentation Ceremony held at Government House.
“I am greatly honoured to receive Hong Kong’s highest award,” said Hong Kong-born Dr Ho in a statement.
Dr Ho is the only person to be given the highest civic honour available in Hong Kong and Macau. He was awarded Macau’s Grand Lotus Medal of Honour in 2007.
