Perfect World, a leading online game developer and operator in China, has signed an agreement with CJ Internet Corporation to licence Zhu Xian, the 3D massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), for use in the South Korea market. It is the second time Perfect World has cooperated with CJ Internet.
Zhu Xian is based on a popular Internet fantasy martial arts novel of the same name. The partners say it has been well received by online game players both in China and overseas because of its creative designs and high quality imagery. Perfect World already has licensing deals for Zhu Xian in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan and the Philippines.
Michael Chi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perfect World, said in a prepared statement: “South Korea is a major online game producing country and has turned out many classic online games. Licensing Zhu Xian in South Korea is an important move for Perfect World as it once again proves that the high quality research and development of Chinese online games is being recognised overseas.”
