Foreigner-only casino operator Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) reported a 16.5% year-on-year decline and 1.5% sequential decline in casino sales to KRW9.27 billion, still impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Table game revenue of KRW7.67 billion was down 3.2% on September and 16.2% on October 2020, while machine revenue of KRW1.60 billion was 7.2% higher than September but 17.8% lower than the same period last year.
For the first 10 months of 2021 combined, casino sales were down 58.3% year-on-year to KRW75.35 billion with table drop down 57.5% to KRW580.64 billion. October’s table drop of KRW71.95 billion was 2.2% higher than September.
GKL operates three casinos in South Korea – Gangnam COEX and Gangbuk Millenium Seoul Hilton in Seoul, and Seven Luck Casino Busan Lotte.
