Financial Technology Asia is the name of a brand new segment at G2E Asia 2019 aimed at showcasing the latest blockchain technologies and its applications for the financial sector in relation to the gaming industry, it was revealed at a press conference on Tuesday.
This segment will feature themes including blockchain technologies for gaming and lottery as well as innovations in payments and cybersecurity and is primarily targeted at visitors including casino operators, gaming platform operators, banking and financial institutions, funding and venture capitalists and fintech system integrators.
Financial Technology Asia intends to serve as a networking platform linking visitors to exhibitors providing blockchain solutions.
The organizers are expecting to gather around 30 exhibitors from this Financial Technology Asia segment, according to Vera Ng, Project Director at G2E Asia co-organizer Reed Exhibitions Ltd.
G2E Asia has partnered with Blockchain Labs Co – a company based in Hong Kong offering one-stop solutions and services for the blockchain and digital currency industries – to create the segment
Jack Liao, Chief Executive Officer of Blockchain Labs, reviewed the evolution of fintech technology and its application to different sectors during the press conference and remarked on the massive possibilities it offers to a wide range of industries.
The gaming sector has been showing interest in the application of blockchain technologies for some time and the presence of a forum centered on this subject reflects its increasing importance, Liao said.
“G2E Asia’s new coverage of the financial aspects of cybersecurity directly responds to market needs, while providing financial technology and business solutions for the whole gaming and entertainment industry,” said Josephine Lee, COO of Reed Exhibitions.
G2E Asia 2019 will be held at The Venetian Macao between 21 and 23 May.
