Macau welcomed around 343,000 visitor arrivals during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, including a high of 138,400 arrivals on Sunday. The average of 114,333 arrivals per day was also higher than the 100,000 per day who arrived over the same period in 2023.

According to information from the Public Security Police Force, the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday saw 654,480 departures and entries to Macau, of which 120,000 were inbound tourist entries.

Sunday saw 672,600 departures and entries of which 138,400 were inbound tourists, while Monday saw 594,920 departures and entries of which 83,600 were inbound tourists.

The total number of Macau departures and entries for the three-day holiday was 1.9 million, including 709,000 departures and entries by tourists and 343,000 entries.

The Director of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, told media on Saturday that the hotel booking rate for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday was around 85%, labelling this “very satisfactory”.

The Macau International Dragon Boat Races saw a significant 275% year-on-year increase in the number of spectators compared to last year, with about 60,000 people attending the event this year.
