Hong Kong-listed investment firm Success Universe Ltd has reported a profit attributable to owners of the Company of HK$169.3 million (US$21.6 million) in 2023, reversing a HK$287.1 million (US$36.7 million) loss from a year earlier due in part to the performance of its Macau integrated resort, Ponte 16.
Success Universe holds a 49% stake in Ponte 16 operator Pier 16 – Property Development, with Macau concessionaire SJM Resorts S.A. holding the other 51%.
Announcing its FY23 results on Thursday, the company said its shared profit of the associates relating to Ponte 16 amounted to HK$143.7 million (US$18.4 million), reversing a HK$42.1 million (US$5.4 million) share of loss in 2022. The property, which boasts 109 gaming tables of which 103 are mass and six are high-limit, recorded Adjusted EBITDA of HK$334.1 million (US$42.7 million) versus an Adjusted EBITDA loss of HK$46.2 million (US$5.9 million) a year ago.
The company’s travel business Jade Travel Ltd, which is based in Canada and offers travel solutions to customers in wholesale and retail markets, booked a HK$4.3 million (US$550,000) profit on revenues of HK$99.2 million (US$12.7 million) for the year.
