  • Are you a regular IAG reader, and enjoy following the gaming industry in Asia?

If this sounds like you, keep reading …

Inside Asian Gaming, through its parent company O MEDIA, is seeking a dynamic, young and enthusiastic individual to join its leadership team and help the company through its current phase of high growth.

This is a unique and rare opportunity for the right person, and it is planned that the successful candidate will grow in experience and seniority over time, becoming a key leader of, and asset to, the IAG team.

Those who have followed the IAG journey in recent years have witnessed our growth. IAG was founded in 2005 and will therefore celebrate its 20th anniversary next year, but we have experienced particularly significant growth since joining the wider O MEDIA group in 2015. The pandemic from 2020 to 2022 paused our expansion, but in 2023 our company returned to 2019 levels of business, and growth so far in 2024 has been very prodigious.

This means we have much more to deliver to our clients this year and beyond, and we have committed to implement a number of exciting new initiatives in 2024. As a result, we are planning on a major expansion this year, adding up to 8 team members to our already very solid IAG team – the current members of which have been with the company an average of 7 years apiece.

We have very recently onboarded several of this new intake of team members, and we are now looking for a new senior executive to join our leadership team.

By way of background, broadly speaking the company has ten departments or functions, five external and five internal. The five external functions are Sales and Business Development, Editorial, Events, Strategy, and Corporate Affairs. The five internal functions are Finance and Compliance, HR, IT, CRM, and Administration.

The new role has a clearly defined career path, which can be broadly dissected into two stages, as below.

Stage 1
During this stage the role’s title will be either AVP or VP of Operations, depending on existing experience. The successful candidate will work directly with me on the company’s Strategy function, developing new products, implementing new initiatives and generally helping IAG to deliver on its mission in a timely and efficient manner by taking the lead in executing a specific portfolio of deliverables. During this stage, the successful candidate will learn the intricacies of the business, and work with IAG team members of all seniority levels, thus growing their skills in areas of the business they previously were not familiar with.

Stage 2
Should the new executive prove successful during stage 1, there will be a gradual evolution to stage 2, in which the portfolio of responsibilities will be expanded, with additional decision-making authority. Ongoing leadership mentoring will be offered, with a window into strategy formulation and high-level decision making, with the goal of gradually expanding the role to incorporate a growing number of functions within multiple departments. Eventually, the role is planned to encompass aspects of all or nearly all parts of the business. When appropriate, the role’s title may evolve to Chief of Staff and even eventually Chief Operating Officer, should the successful candidate continue to prove successful in executing the expanded portfolio of responsibilities and as the IAG team grows.

The role offers significant opportunities for travel globally, particularly in the APAC region, and the chance to work closely with all major integrated resort companies in the region (over 20 such companies), as well as major industry suppliers and contractors. The successful applicant will have the chance to grow a significant skill set over a number of years, including business development; media production; event production; strategy formulation; public, community and government relations; and oversight of a team executing back-of-house functions such as HR, IT, finance, compliance and more.

At this stage, we are not too concerned about your specific skill set, as the necessary skills can be learnt over time. What’s far more important is that the successful candidate is a talented, enthusiastic and dynamic individual with an entrepreneurial mindset, who is eager to learn and grow – over time – into a highly successful industry executive with a wide range of capabilities.

If this sounds like an exciting opportunity to you, please contact me at ceo@asgam.com.
