IAGA announces officers and trustees for 2021-22

IAGR and IMGL announce return of annual gaming regulatory conference in September

Boston will host the IAGA’s International Gaming Summit in 2022.

The International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA) has announced its new officers for the year running from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022, to be led by IGT’s Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance and Risk Management Officer, Luke Orchard, as President.

IAGA is an organization of gaming advisors that provides its members with commercially relevant engagement, education and integration in the gaming industry via a collaborative forum for discussing the key issues affecting global gaming today

Its member base comprises gaming industry attorneys, senior executives, financial advisors, regulators, consultants and academics.

The full list of officers for 2021-22 is:

President: Luke Orchard, Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance and Risk Management Officer, IGT
Vice President: Ellen Whittemore, Executive Vice President & General Counsel, Wynn Resorts
Secretary: John Stawyskyj, Partner & Sector Head – Hotels, Leisure and Gaming, Ashurst Australia
Treasurer: Jeffrey Barbin, Partner, Phelps Dunbar
Assistant Treasurer: Harper Ko, Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary, Penn National Gaming
General Counsel: William Downey, Shareholder, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck

IAGA also announced the reappointment of the following Trustees to its Board for a second term:

  • Mark Clayton, Shareholder and Global Gaming Practice Co-Chair, Greenberg Traurig
  • Chris Grippa, Partner-in-Charge of Litigation Services and Forensic Accounting, Aprio
  • Mark Hemmerle, Vice President, Gaming and Compliance Counsel, Shift4Payments
  • Jeremy Kleiman, Partner and Gaming Law Practice Group Head, Saiber
  • Rui Pinto Proenca, Partner and Corporate / Gaming Practice Head, MdME Lawyers

IAGA President Luke Orchard said, “I am pleased to begin my term as IAGA President with such an accomplished and dedicated group of Officers and Trustees who collectively bring a diverse wealth of legal, regulatory and operational expertise to our Association.

“I am confident that they will help IAGA expand our effectiveness in providing the global gaming industry with exceptional education resources enhanced by unparalleled networking opportunities as the industry emerges from the past year’s unprecedented closures and restrictions.”

IAGA said its annual International Gaming Summit will return from 27 to 29 June 2022 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, Massachusetts.
