NagaCorp Ltd has announced that it has been granted permission by the Cambodian Ministry of Health to reopen all casino operations at NagaWorld.

The only legal casino within 200 kilometers of Cambodia’s capital city of Phnom Penh, NagaWorld had previously resumed limited VIP and slot machine operations from 8 July 2020 after Prime Minister Hun Sen eased COVID-19 restrictions across the country.

The reopening of any casino requires each operator to meet certain COVID-19 safety measures as approved by the Ministry of Health and to sign a Memorandum of Understanding.

After signing an initial MoU granting permission on 30 June to reopen VIP and slots, NagaCorp announced on Sunday that the Ministry of Health has now attached an annexure to the MoU “to further clarify that, in line with the Letter, the MOH has no objection to the Group to reopen all of its casino businesses consisting of the mass market, VIP and slot gaming machines businesses in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.”

The company did not reveal whether it would reopen all casino operations immediately.

Cambodia’s casinos had been closed since 1 April.
