Manila shaping as Asia’s new home of poker as PokerStars announces seven live events in 2020

PokerStars has announced that it will hold 21 live international events during its 2019/2020 season beginning this month, including seven events at the recently opened PokerStars Live room at Okada Manila.

The busy Manila schedule builds on the Philippine capital’s growing reputation as the home of live poker in Asia following the 2018 closure of the PokerStars Live Macau room at City of Dreams Macau and cancellation of two Asian Poker Tour (APT) events that were scheduled to take place in Macau that same year.

The APT itself held two events at Resorts World Manila in 2019 and has up to four Philippines events planned for 2020.

The seven PokerStars Live events scheduled for Okada Manila in 2020 include the popular Red Dragon Manila from 4 to 11 January, the Okada Manila Millions from 9 to 15 March and APPT Manila from 31 July to 9 August.

The winners of the Red Dragon in January and the Manila Megastack event in May will each win a Platinum Pass to the PokerStars Players Championship 2020, to be held in Barcelona from 20 to 24 August 2020.

PokerStars Live Manila 2020 event schedule:

4 to 11 Jan                Red Dragon Manila
9 to 15 Mar               Okada Manila Millions
22 to 31 May            Manila Megastack
6 to 12 Jul                 Manila Super Series
31 Jul to 9 Aug         APPT Manila
22 to 28 Sep             Manila Super Series
6 to 13 Dec               Manila Megastack Challenge
