The AGEM Index – a monthly stock performance guide comprising 12 global gaming suppliers – increased by 14.4% or 106.87 points in October to 846.64 points, driven by strong gains from Aristocrat Leisure Limited and Light & Wonder Inc.
The October result was, however, still down by 21.5% or 231.28 points compared with October 2021 – despite nine of the 12 AGEM Index companies reporting stock price increases.
According to the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), which compiles the index, the largest positive contributor to the index was Aristocrat, whose 12.6% increase in stock price led to a 35.62-point gain to the index.
Light & Wonder contributed a 29.78-point increase thanks to a 30.9% increase in its stock price, while the largest negative contribution came from Konami Corp with a 2.3% stock price decline resulting in a 5.20-point loss for the AGEM Index.
All three major U.S. stock indices saw month-over-month increases in October 2022. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 13.9% from September, while the S&P 500 grew by 8.0% and the NASDAQ by 3.9%.
