Macau’s SJM Resorts S.A. has held a series of responsible gaming activities for employees and their families based around the Macau SAR Government’s “Lost Control, Lose Family” promotional campaign.
This campaign is aimed at ensuring people have a deeper understanding of responsible gaming, with SJM hosting a creative competition that saw more than 50 entries of short films, dolls and slogans, with prizes being presented at a ceremony on Thursday.
Other interactive games included a responsible gaming “Crossword Game”, family game “Switch OFF Bad Habits, Switch ON Happy Family” and a quiz game “Tips on Gambling Debt and Finance for Family”, with more than 4,000 participants.
SJM Managing Director Angela Leong, said, “SJM will continue to actively co-operate with the Macau government’s policies and work closely with all sectors of society to vigorously promote responsible gambling publicity and education to employees, their families, citizens and tourists, and will popularise and enhance the public’s responsibility towards gambling. SJM aims to aid society while contributing to Macau’s prosperous economy and a harmonious and healthy social environment for sustainable development.”
SJM stated that it has focused on responsible gaming training and promotion in 2021, including responsible gaming ambassadors training, special training for new and current employees and booth games at the back-of-house area, serving more than 6,000 people in total.
SJM also collaborated with the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development in offering its staff members a Proficiency Certificate Course “Sustainable Development in Macau Tourism, Leisure, Entertainment – Responsible Gaming” for the third consecutive year. Around 200 staff completed the course and were awarded certificates at Thursday’s awards ceremony.
