Preah Sihanouk will be the first province in Cambodia to welcome back vaccinated international guests without the need for hotel quarantine, the Ministry of Tourism has announced.
From 30 November, Preah Sihanouk province, the island of Koh Rong and the Dara Sakor area will be permitted to welcome tourists who will only need to provide a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival. Siem Reap will then become the second destination to welcome tourists from January 2022.
“All visitors taking part in the vaccinated tourism programme are only required to undergo antigen rapid testing for Covid-19 upon arrival at the international airports,” the Ministry of Tourism said in a statement.
“If the result is negative, they can travel freely in the areas deemed safe tourist destinations where all of the resorts and attractions will be enforcing [preventive health procedures and measures].”
The Ministry said visitors must enter Cambodia either via a “vaccinated visitor” tourism package, as part of a family or any other small group of people who must all be fully vaccinated. They must also book and pay for all accommodation within the designated tourist areas in advance, and book and pay for their return flight home.
