SJM Resorts has announced a MOP$10 million (US$1.25 million) donation to support flood relief efforts in Zhengzhou in the central province of Henan, China.
The city has been devastated by severe flooding in recent days, with reports that at least 25 people have been killed including 12 when water quickly swept through subway cars, trapping many occupants.
SJM said its donation was made under coordination of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR.
“Our hearts are with the people of Zhengzhou at this difficult time,” said SJM Chairman, Daisy Ho. “On behalf of all members of the company, I would like to extend our sincerest wishes to all those affected by the flooding. We hope that the floods will recede quickly and the residents can resume their normal daily lives as soon as possible.”
