Calvin Chui has been appointed Partner at Rato, Ling, Lei & Cortes Law Firm.
The promotion of Chui, who is qualified to practice law in both Macau and New York state, is part of the firm’s strategy to strengthen its services to clients in Macau, the Greater Bay Area, and in Portuguese and English Speaking countries and regions.
Chui began his career with Rato, Ling, Lei & Cortes Law in 2015, initially via an internship as trainee-lawyer under the orientation of Founding Partner Frederico Rato. He became a fully qualified lawyer in Macau in 2020.
Chui’s specific focuses are on commercial and corporate, capital markets, debt securities and regulatory matters.
Occasionally giving lectures at the University of Macau and at the City University of Macau, his other public and private positions include Director of the Macau Financial Law Association and President of the Macau Youth Summit. He holds a LL.M. (Latin Legum Magister) from the University of Chicago Law School and a Law Degree (2014) from the Portuguese Catholic University – Lisbon School of Law.
Chui is the son of Deputy of the 13th National People’s Congress Jose Chui and nephew of former Macau Chief Executive Fernando Chui.
