Malaysian slot machine distributor RGB International Bhd saw its profit soar by 80% to MYR 14.7 million (US$3.5 million) in the three months to 31 December 2019, driven by strong growth in both its Sales and Marketing and its Technical Support and Management divisions.
RGB reported a 68% increase in revenue for the quarter to MYR 132.1 million (US$31.4 million), helping drive a near 100% increase in EBITDA to MYR 29.2 million (US$6.9 million).
The strong results included a 76% year-on-year increase in revenue to MYR 97.7 million (US$23.2 million) and 59% increase in profit before tax to MYR 10.8 million (US$2.6 million) in the Sales and Marketing division due to more products being sold.
Likewise, the Technical Support and Management division booked a 48% increase in revenue to MYR 33.7 million (US$8.0 million) and 235% growth in profit before tax to MYR 6.8 million (US$1.6 million) due to a better performance and opening of an additional outlet during the year.
The 4Q19 results helped boost the company’s FY19 financials, which recorded a 7% year-on-year decline in revenue to MYR 351.1 million (US$83.4 million) but 13% increase in profit to MYR 40.2 million (US$9.6 million).
RGB reported a 44% decrease in revenue from its Engineering Services division for the year to MYR 1.9 million which it attributed to a bulk installation of new machines at an unnamed integrated resort in Indochina.
