Macau VIP operator Suncity Group says it will grant special paid leave to its employees for the entirety of the current 15-day closure of gaming activities in the Asian gaming hub.
“Holidays generated between 5 February and 19 February will be special paid leave – we will neither offset your annual leave, nor deduct from your salaries,” Suncity Group CEO Alvin Chau explained in a video message put together for staff.
“We will not ask any colleagues to take unpaid leave either, so don’t worry.”
Chau emphasized that Suncity Group boasts a strong financial base to ride out the storm and will support the SAR government in fighting the novel Coronavirus epidemic.
Meanwhile, Suncity revealed it has purchased a total of 400,000 face masks for use by its employees.
All 41 of Macau’s casinos as well as slot machine lounges and VIP rooms have suspended operations for 15 days starting from midnight on 5 February following a directive last week from Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng.
