Bloomberry Cultural Foundation Inc. (BCFI) and Philippines gaming regulator PAGCOR have been working together to provide assistance to thousands of families from Tagaytay and some areas in Batangas and Cavite provinces displaced by the recent eruption of the Taal Volcano.
Assistance measures, worth a combined Php25 million, included thousands of employees of Bloomberry’s Solaire Resort & Casino, alongside volunteers from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Army and Philippine Navy, repacking at least 11,000 sets of relief goods.
The repacking of the goods was done in round-the-clock shifts at Solaire, with each set including necessities such as rice, canned goods, coffee, powdered milk, medicines and toiletries. Thousands of liters of bottled water were also included as part of relief package.
The 11,000 relief packs were delivered to intended beneficiaries between last Saturday evening and Tuesday, with representatives of Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. and Solaire Cares joining in the distribution of the relief efforts.
Solaire also revealed that American comedian Dave Chappelle has donated Php1 million to Rayomar Outreach Foundation, a nonprofit organization on the ground to provide aid to those affected by the eruption of Taal Volcano, following his recent two-night show at the Theatre at Solaire.
