Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited and the Women’s General Association of Macau recently co-hosted the Best Mom Award Ceremony at City of Dreams.
The award aims to “celebrate the virtues of women, pay tribute to maternal love, promote positive family values and provide a platform for the community to show gratitude and appreciation,” Melco said in its media release.
Following two earlier rounds of selection, eight “Best Mom Excellence Award” winners were recognized and awarded with a trip to Beijing for their contributions and success, each together with three family members, to celebrate the special occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR.
“The Melco message for initiatives for women ‘Best I Can Be’ encourages females to embrace life’s choices to bring out the best in oneself,” said Melco Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho.
“As part of the ‘Best I Can Be’ campaign, on the special occasion of the China-Macau double anniversary, Melco is pleased to highlight the achievements of local moms through the Best Mom Award. Our congratulations and best wishes go to all participants and winners. We will continue in our endeavor to introduce more family and female-friendly activities and policies to Macau in collaboration with trusted local community partners such as Women’s Association.”
Ms Lau Kam Ling, Vice-Chairwoman of Women’s General Association of Macau, added, “Since its establishment 69 years ago, the Women’s General Association of Macau has been devoted to caring for women and children and promoting positive family and social values. In recent years, the Association has developed multiple services to support women and families.
“The Best Mom Award has been well-received by local families since it was announced in July, and on this special occasion, we extend our warmest gratitude and congratulations to the event’s winning Moms who contribute so much for their families; and would like to thank Melco Resorts & Entertainment for their commitment to supporting and implementing initiatives for women.
“We look forward to further opportunities to collaborate with the government, corporations, and other parties from the community in our strive to raise awareness for women’s needs, to promote a family-friendly culture, and to work hand in hand with Mothers to build happy and healthy families and homes.”
