South Shore Holdings Limited, formerly known as The 13 Limited, says it is aiming to open its luxury Macau hotel THE 13 by 31 August 2018 after the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) completed its second round of inspections last week.
The new opening date, revised from the previously planned 31 July launch, comes after the MGTO had requested a series of defects be fixed during its initial inspection in June.
They included activation of the passenger lifts, improving defective finishes to guest rooms including defective in-room facilities such as switches and televisions plus finishing touches to the luggage room, cloak rooms, the business center, changing room and other areas in the hotel’s podium section.
In a Tuesday announcement, South Shore Holding said it now expects that all required licenses, namely those for the hotel, food and beverage areas, the health club and bar, will be granted by mid-August.
“To enhance the competitiveness of THE 13 Hotel and to cater for the increasing sophisticated needs of the target customers, additional time will be spent on the preparation works for the hotel opening,” the company said, adding that it “expects that THE 13 Hotel will open on or before 31 August 2018.”
