The Macau SAR Government raked in direct taxes from gaming of MOP$8.28 billion in January, a year-on-year increase of 14.1% on the MOP$7.26 billion it collected in January 2017.
The figure, released by the Financial Services Bureau (DSF) this week, represented 80.7% of all government revenue for the month, which totaled MOP$10.26 billion. It also comprised 10.1% of the government’s authorized tax revenue budget of MOP$82.41 billion for 2018.
Macau’s gross gaming revenue for January was previously announced at MOP$26.6 billion, an increase of 36.4% and the largest year-on-year growth in almost four years.
The DSF also revealed direct taxes from gaming of MOP$93.96 billion for Full Year 2017, up 18.2% on 2016 figures and representing 79.6% of all government revenues for the year.
