Wynn Macau has unveiled a brand-new sports tourism initiative in support of the government’s diversification efforts, with the 2023 Macau Snooker Masters to see some of the world’s finest snooker players take part at Cotai’s Wynn Palace from 25 to 29 December.
The event will see eight players fighting it out for £150,000 in prize money, including seven-time World Snooker Championship winner Ronnie O’Sullivan, China’s Ding Jun Hui, Hong Kong’s Marco Fu, plus Judd Trump, Jack Lisowski, Mark Williams, Kyren Wilson and Si Jia Hui.
Wynn said the Snooker Masters, organized in collaboration with the Macao Billiards General Association and Sailing Up Sports, underscores the company’s dedication to introducing and hosting top-tier sports events in Macau, with the goal of cultivating a local sport culture infused with unique elements.
“The objective of Snooker Masters is to actively support the government’s ‘1+4’ diversification development strategy, and to contribute to the growth of Macau’s sports culture and tourism industry,” said Ms. Linda Chen, President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Wynn Macau Limited.
“In addition, this esteemed event is also part of our long-term plan to bolster Macau’s influence in the international sports scene.”
